Went for dinner with some of my colleagues in my room. We were at Outback Steak house...was a good time of getting to know each others partners. My colleagues are the only other two girls in the picture, Magda and Nina. Magda is from Peru and Nina was born in Indonesia, but she is a certified Aussie!

Went to Port Macquarie over the Easter long weekend...over here there is a 4 day break! It was a beautiful place..with rolling waves and long stretches of sand...quite idyllic actually...if only there were less people. Its a small town about 5 hours drive north of Sydney. We spent most of the time just lazing on the beach and eating! The fish and chips there was smuckaroo...yum yum...Thank You God for giving us the opportunity to take a break from all the running around and studying! The beautiful setting reminded us of what a awesome God He is and what a huge sacrifice He had to make to giv up His only son...His love is so vast...as vast as the ocean and the sky...hard to comprehend...but never fail to amaze...Thank You Lord for giving us hope!

Sunning on the beach...hat for sun protection!

On top of a look out that had spectacular views of the beaches...this picture doesn't do the view justice!

Me walk slowly...

Had a hilariously frustrating encounter with Benji on Friday! Must say that this is the ultimate expression of his cheekiness. We were all in the playground with the kids in the afternoon...had our hands full and i didn't even realise that Benji and another kid have been missing from the playground for some time. We all decided to go back into the rooms as it was going to rain soon. I walked into the toilets to check if any child was in there....and guess who i found playing furiously with the water in the toilet...my friend Benji and this other boy Tommi. I was very angry with him and asked him in my sternest voice...
Melia: Is that the right thing that you were doing??
Benji: No..(looks slightly ashamed that he was caught)
Melia: Do you know why i told you never to play with water in the toilet...The water will flood the toilet and make the floor very slippery. And it will make it easy for people to fall
Benji: (looks at me with innocent eyes) noo...me walk slowly...

Chilli crabs

We had a feast of chilli crabs and everything Singaporean on Thursday...Swissotel was having a Singaporean inspired buffet...flying in chefs from Singapore to cook authentic chilli crabs, laksa etc etc. I happened to chance upon the advertisement last weekend, and decided to pin the ad up on our fridge. My dear husband got the hint and we were booked for a exciting dinner on Thurs! Went with Joe and Sin Min...and we had a good time sucking on crabs and talking about things. Oh ya...and there was a prize of 2 return business class tickets to Singapore! But i must say that my mum's chilli crabs are way better!!

Sand in my pants

Benji (my fav kid who has become very very cheeky) took off his pants today right in the middle of the playground, i went up to him and demanded to know what was he doing with his pants off!
Benji: Full sand, full sand..too heavy...
Me: Where's the sand and what is too heavy??
I picked up his pants and they were so so heavy...cos he has filled his pockets choke full of sand! That silly boy! Its amazing how he thinks of all these things to do! And of cos, all his cheeky friends followed suit!
He is always thinking of reasons for everything he doesn't want to do. One that cracks me up is when his parents have to put sunscreen on Benji...he is always saying.."too cold, too cold" He claims that the sunscreen is too cold and he hates it! His mum says that he has an excuse for everything and sometimes the excuse makes sense!
I wonder what excuse he had for wearing his underwear on top of his shorts today!
